Here are a few facts about the structural slab that was poured on August 30,2006. They are pretty interesting.

1. 24,000 sq. ft. of floor area was poured at 18 inches thick.
2. Pouring started at 1:00 a.m. and was completed by 10:00 a.m., thus total pour time was 9 hours.
3. 1,300 yards of concrete was poured.
4. Two (2) pumps pumped all the concrete.
5. Trucks hauled concrete from two (2) different batch plants.
6. Concrete was screeded off with a Somero Power Rake and a Somero Copperhead Laser Screed.
7. Five (5) riding trowel machines were used.
8. Three (3) walk behind trowel machines were used.
9. Only sixteen (16) men placed and finished all the concrete.
10. On average we poured 2 ½ yards of concrete per minute. Which means a 10 yard load of concrete was poured every four (4) minutes.
11. The floor has two (2) layers of #6 rebar 10” on center, which equals 42 miles of rebar if you were to lay it all out end to end. (That’s a lot of rebar!! You could get from our office to La Farge in that distance!)
12. This was the most concrete ever poured at one time by River City Redi-Mix and Wieser Brothers General Contractor, Inc.
