Pit #1 (far right) - One slab was 17,280 square feet and the other was 20,736 square feet, totaling 38,016 square feet consisting of 804 yards of concrete.

Pit #2 (middle) - 41,472 square feet consisting of 880 yards of concrete.

Pit #3 (far left) - 66,600 square feet consisting of 1,240 yards of concrete.

Wieser Brothers wants to congratulate Houghton's Fine Food & Dining on their new building and wish them continued success as they strive to satisfy their many customers.

Since the flames broke out on the morning of March 15, 2007, the community has been anticipating the re-opening of the local bar/restaurant. After months of planning and construction, the bar was able to re-open on April 30, 2008, and the restaurant able to re-open on July 7, 2008. Houghton's is located at their previous location, on the corner of 10th and Jackson Street in La Crosse, WI. Lunch is served daily at 11 A.M. Monday - Saturday and dinner is served daily at 4:00 P.M. Monday - Saturday. With the ability to serve more people, this new building is a remarkable way to start their next 20 years of fine food and dining.

This new 5,595 sq. ft. facility will be located at the intersection of Holmen Drive and Hale Road, just North of Pizza Corral. With the anticipated completion date of April 1, 2009, Altra Federal Credit Union is looking to further serve this growing Holmen community.

This project, located at 2302 Kwik Trip Way, La Crosse, WI is a 5,000 square foot wood framed food testing lab, with the exterior consisting of brick, block, and a shingled roof. The building includes eight (8) labs, three (3) offices, one (1) receiving area, and one (1) break room/bathroom area. It is a unique building that is equipped with urethane flooring, R.O. and D.I water systems, fume hoods, autoclaves, incubators, and an HVAC system with Heppa filters. We are looking forward to continue our valuable partnership with Kwik Trip Inc.

This 7,700 square foot facility will be LEED certified, helping to aim toward a 'greener' future. Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center held the ground breaking for their new facility on Friday, May 16, 2008 and Wieser Brothers General Contractor, Inc. began construction on Monday, May 19, 2008. The estimated completion date for this project is December 2008.

Wieser Brothers is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). This nationwide program is designed to transform the way buildings are designed, built, and operated, by making them more environmentally and socially responsible. Below are some facts about commercial buildings in the U.S.

Annually, commercial buildings consume more than 30% of the total energy and 60% of the electricity used in the U.S.

Each day, 5 billion gallons of potable water is used soley to flush toilets.

Green building practices can substantially reduce these negative environmental impacts; in one instance, energy efficient measures reduced operating expenses by approximately $75,000.00 per year. Therefore, 'green' design elements benefit all building owners, occupants and general public.

Wieser Brothers is working with the USGBC to build LEED certified buildings and preparing our staff to be LEED Accredited Professionals. In recent projects, Wieser Brothers has used select 'green' and recycled materials, but has yet to build a LEED certified building. With our strong involvement in USGBC, we are looking forward to our transformation in a 'greener' future.
